Fimlab - Over two-thirds of doctors now use Direct speech recognition tool
Fimlab, a laboratory service provider for several Finnish welfare counties, has successfully integrated Inscripta’s speech recognition technology into its pathology operations, involving over 100 pathology professionals and a total staff of 1,200.
With a decade of prior experience in speech recognition, Fimlab sought to improve the accuracy and usability of this technology during their procurement process. The introduction of Inscripta has significantly enhanced output quality, eliminating the need for manual corrections and enabling at least two-thirds of doctors to use direct speech recognition almost exclusively.
Integration with digital workflows
Today, at least two-thirds of doctors use direct speech recognition almost exclusively. Fimlab produces laboratory services for welfare counties. We have five main shareholders from welfare counties. Pirkanmaa, Kantahäme, Päijät-Häme, Central Finland and Ostrobothnia. FImlab has a staff of 1200 people. In my own organization, there are more than 100 people in the field of pathology. During the procurement phase, we identified several things that were important to us, which we wanted to take into account in the tender.
The deploying phase was relatively fast and quite easy from our point of view. Inscripta's technical know-how in this respect was convincing. Yes, there is a difference in quality with different speech recognition devices. Inscripta's speech recognition has been yes - I'm surprised how good it is. It recognizes really well and it also knows how to correct such points that if you start saying something a little wrong and then correct it, it doesn't make it wrong, but understands that now this was meant to be such a word.
It has been surprisingly good and indeed better than what I have used elsewhere. During the agreement, Fimlab's operations were actually expanded to Ostrobothnia , and there, of course, Swedish is another language of use, and we warned Inscripta well in advance along the way that something like this was on the horizon. And when that moment came, we were also able to offer a service in Swedish. In this respect, Inscripta will deftly keep up with our expansion. Another thing that impressed us a lot was that speech recognition was attractive. - Mika Tirkkonen, Fimlab
Fimlab strongly recommends Inscripta’s speech recognition system to other healthcare professionals due to its superior accuracy, language support, and integration capabilities.
